Recruiting a talented Sr Data Analyst to join our team in Newport Beach, CA. The role blends data engineering, analysis, and quality management to ensure reliable, high‑quality, and trusted data across enterprise platforms.
Responsibilities- Build and operationalize scalable data quality and observability frameworks, data profiling tools, and processes aligned with Pacific Life’s Data Management strategy.
- Design and implement data pipelines, observability frameworks, and quality controls.
- Lead data quality and governance for the Workforce Benefits Division (WBD), managing the asset certification program, data metrics, reports, and communication plans with the WBD data community.
- Partner with data architects, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into clear technical solutions, and lead requirements workshops and backlog refinement.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis and remediation of data issues across upstream and downstream systems.
- Support data governance initiatives, including metadata management, data lineage, data certification, and business glossary maintenance, ensuring compliance with data standards, controls, and regulatory requirements for sensitive data (PII/PHI).
- Work within Agile delivery teams to prioritize, manage, and execute work effectively.
- BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred. - Minimum 6+ years of professional experience in data analysis, data quality, engineering, or related roles.
- Expert level SQL and strong Python programming skills, with hands‑on experience in data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience building or supporting data pipelines, ETL processes, or data workflows.
- Experience with cloud‑based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Snowflake.
- Strong experience with data profiling, anomaly detection, and root‑cause analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data issues and develop policies, standards, and solutions to enhance the data user experience.
- Experience in regulated data environments involving PII/PHI.
- Experience in the Group Insurance domain.
- Familiarity with DBT and advanced data pipeline tools.
- Base pay range: $ – $ (actual compensation may vary).
