Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position located in Newport Beach, CA. The Field Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily manpower coordination, fleet & equipment management, field quality control support, & union dispatch operations across all active projects. This role serves as a central communication hub between Project Managers (PMs), Project Engineers (PEs), Superintendents, and field staff to ensure accurate tracking, compliance, operational efficiency, and project readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Manpower Coordination
- Generate and maintain a comprehensive field manpower overview spreadsheet (similar to Assignar) and update daily.
- Coordinate daily manpower dispatch to ensure appropriate staffing levels across all projects.
- Contact each Superintendent daily to verify actual manpower on site.
- Compare field headcount against planned 3-Week Look Ahead (3
WLH) manpower projections. - Track no-shows and manpower discrepancies; update records and notify Hossein accordingly.
- Manage and maintain all field and office certifications (CPR, confined space, etc.).
- Monitor certification expiration dates and schedule renewals as required.
Fleet & Equipment Management
- Maintain a complete inventory of all owned and rented equipment.
- Upload and manage the full equipment list in Raken to support Superintendent reporting.
- Conduct daily check-ins with Superintendents to confirm equipment utilization, call-offs, or down days.
- Perform weekly reviews of owned equipment status and identify maintenance needs.
- Collect weekly maintenance logs for owned equipment and maintain organized records.
- Coordinate monthly preventative maintenance for owned equipment.
- Serve as point of contact for questions regarding the location of owned equipment
- Ensure proper logging and tracking of environmental compliance reporting requirements for applicable equipment (typically equipment over 50 HP).
Field Quality Control Coordination
- Support DPR QA/QC requirements and documentation.
- Conduct weekly jobsite visits to review Superintendent binders and ensure proper documentation (e.g., sign-in sheets, T&M tickets, etc.).
- Perform QA/QC site visits prior to major project activities, including but not limited to:
- Start-ups
- Identify documentation gaps and work with field leadership to maintain compliance and readiness.
Union Dispatch Management
- Serve as the primary coordinator for union dispatch across all projects.
- Receive staffing requests from project teams.
- Verify correct union jurisdiction and submit dispatch requests accordingly.
- Track dispatch status and follow up on new hire packets and dispatch slips.
- Maintain organized records of all union dispatch communications and documentation.
Qualifications
- Experience in construction operations, field coordination, or fleet management preferred.
- Strong organizational and tracking skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Superintendents, Project Managers, and field staff.
- Experience managing certifications, compliance documentation, and equipment logs.
- Knowledge of union dispatch procedures preferred.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets and construction management software (e.g., Raken or similar platforms).
