Overview
Functions as the clinical resource for patients and staff for ostomy, Continence Disorders, Acute and Chronic Wound and Skin breakdown, and Fistulae. Provides direct wound and ostomy care in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Provides patient/family teaching and instruction of wound and ostomy management, both pre- and postoperatively. Assists the healthcare team in the evaluation of skin and wound products and equipment, along with providing educational programs, in-services, and bedside teaching for the nursing staff.
Stays up to date with skin care practices and shares advances in wound and skin care assessments, evaluations, treatments, and prevention measures.
Assesses all patients with a pressure injury staged at a 3 or above and sees all patients who have developed a hospital-acquired pressure injury (HAPI) and meets appropriate reporting requirements. Assesses overall hospital needs and practices to eliminate HAPIs.

- Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of California - Current and in good standing.
- Wound and Ostomy Certification
A minimum of four years of clinical experience is required.
- Two years of experience in Wound and Ostomy preferred
Bachelor’s of Nursing (BSN) required
Qualifications Education RequiredBachelor’s or better in Nursing.
Experience RequiredMinimum of four years of clinical experience
PreferredWound and Ostomy experience
