Security Supervisor at Newport Beach Club

Location:

Newport Beach Country Club, Newport Beach, CA 92660. Salary: $28.00 hourly. Level: Experienced.

We are seeking a seasoned and composed Security Supervisor to lead our security operation within a refined, member-focused environment. This role is not traditional “guarding”; it is about presence, judgment, leadership, and hospitality alignment.

• Supervise and schedule security team members across all shifts.
• Set expectations for professionalism, appearance, and member interaction.
• Provide ongoing coaching, training, and performance management.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all security-related matters.

• Oversee daily security operations including access control, patrols, and incident response.
• Ensure all reports are accurate, thorough, and submitted in a timely manner.
• Lead incident response with a calm, measured approach.
• Maintain compliance with California regulations and internal policies.

• Ensure security operates in alignment with the Club’s service standards.
• Handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
• Partner with department leaders to support events, tournaments, and high-traffic operations.

• Evaluate and improve security procedures, reporting systems, and coverage models.
• Assist in planning for emergency preparedness (earthquake, medical, workplace violence, etc.).

• 5+ years of experience in security, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role preferred.
• Background in private club, hospitality, residential, or corporate security a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to lead with professionalism, composure, and sound judgment.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• Valid California Guard Card (required).
• CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain).Experience with incident reporting systems and security technology preferred.

• Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods while patrolling indoor and outdoor areas of the Club.
• Ability to navigate various areas of the property, including stairs, walkways, and occasionally uneven surfaces.
• Ability to observe and assess the environment, including monitoring activity at a distance and reviewing written or electronic reports.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, by telephone, and via radio.
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move items up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to respond promptly to incidents and emergency situations, which may require increased physical activity.
• Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat and sun.
• Role may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.
• Schedules may vary from week to week, but will generally include a combination of opening, closing, and mid-shifts, typically consisting of one opening shift, one closing shift, and three mid-shifts.
