About the role
As a QA Automation / SDET
, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and maintaining robust automation frameworks that ensure high‑quality delivery across applications and services. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with developers, Dev Ops engineers, and cross‑functional stakeholders to drive automation excellence.
- Build, enhance, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks for web, API, and related platforms
. - Develop and execute automated test scripts to support functional, regression.
- Define and maintain automation standards, frameworks, and best practices.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops) to improve release efficiency.
- Collaborate with federated IT teams to support framework adoption and drive automation maturity.
Onsite

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days in a client or Cognizant office in Newport Beach, CA. The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting.

- 6+ years of experience in QA Automation.
- Strong hands‑on experience designing, enhancing, and maintaining automation frameworks.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java.
- Expertise with automation tools such as Playwright, TestNG, JUnit, PyTest, Rest Assured.
- Experience testing REST/SOAP APIs using tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins).
- Experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
- Strong knowledge of API test automation strategies.
- Experience with performance monitoring and testing using Dynatrace, App Dynamics, JMeter, Load Runner, or Gatling.
- Ability to collaborate across federated product, engineering, and Dev Ops teams.
- Strong communication skills for influencing engineering stakeholders on testing best practices.

Salary and Other CompensationThe annual salary for this position is between $71,100 – $112,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
