Chitra is seeking a detail-oriented Records Management Support Specialist to provide critical support to the U.S. Army Transformation and Training Command (T2
COM) G-2. This role supports mission-essential records management functions, ensuring compliance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Privacy Act (PA), Executive Orders 13526 and 13556, and Army Records and Information Management policies.
T2
COM plays a vital role in shaping the Army by recruiting and training Soldiers, developing adaptive leaders, guiding doctrine, and integrating formations and capabilities. This position supports the lifecycle management of classified and unclassified records, including coordination with the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
- Provide support for classified, controlled unclassified, and protected information responsive to FOIA and Privacy Act requests.
- Assist in reducing overall FOIA workload backlog and processing approximately 300 annual requests, including referrals, consultations, appeals, and litigations.
- Support mandated review requirements under EO 13526 and EO 13556 to ensure proper protection and accountability of national security information.
- Assist in developing instructional materials, manuals, procedural guidance, and visual aids to standardize Records Management programs across T2
COM. - Provide guidance to T2
COM G-6 Records Managers/Coordinators on filing methods under the Army Records and Information Management System (ARIMS). - Ensure release recommendations comply with FOIA, Privacy Act, and Records Management regulations.
- Support training, inquiries, and records lifecycle management activities.
- Active Secret Security Clearance (Required).
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage document retention, retrieval, and full records lifecycle processes.
- Experience working in records management, FOIA/PA programs, or related compliance environments preferred.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a structured, mission-driven environment.
