Before and Afterschool Facilitator

Summary

Under the direction of the Director and Assistant Director, the Before/After School facilitator is responsible for the supervision of students. The facilitator is directly responsible for planning and organizing all daily activities for students, including rosters, activities, etc., and for implementing and delivering days off of school programs.

• Provide participants with the appropriate leadership during the program.
• Develop and plan activities that incorporate program goals into the daily routine.
• Provide a warm and caring atmosphere for participants.
• Prepare activities that are developmentally appropriate for the age of the children.
• Maintain a safe environment for participants.
• Maintain records of attendance and sign‑in/out sheets and turn them in to the Director and Assistant Director.
• Maintain a positive attitude toward co‑workers.
• Report any problems which arise with participants, other employees, or the school to the Director and Assistant Director.
• Responsible for all activity and room preparations for the program.
• Keep the rooms neat and orderly.
• Keep storage room orderly and well inventoried.
• Follow and enforce district policies and procedures.

• Must have a high school diploma.
• Be able to pass background checks.

• Ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, and talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
• A specific vision ability will be required, including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
• Ability to lift at least 35 lbs.
