Senior Mechanical Estimator; HVAC, Plumbing & Piping

Job Description

• Prepare accurate HVAC, Plumbing, and Mechanical Piping estimates for projects ranging from conceptual design to final bid.
• Review drawings, specifications, and construction documents to develop competitive pricing strategies.
• Perform design calculations and assist with equipment and material selections.
• Identify labor factors, contingencies, and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with general contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and owners.
• Review vendor and subcontractor quotes and incorporate them into final estimates.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, turnover meetings, and project setup meetings.
• Develop labor budgets for awarded projects.
• Help mentor and supervise Estimator Trainees.
• Support bid tracking, bid reviews, bid bonds, and drawing procurement.

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, and Mechanical Piping systems.
• The ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
• Solid understanding of applicable plumbing and mechanical codes.
• Experience with estimating software and tools such as Auto Bid, Excel, and Bluebeam.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• The ability to think strategically while staying detail-focused.
• A Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline, or 10+ years of field experience in HVAC, Plumbing, or Mechanical Piping, or 5+ years of estimating experience in HVAC, Plumbing, and Mechanical Piping.

Salary: $95,000 – $115,000 USD per year.
