Job Description

A leading commercial construction firm seeks an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee ground-up and renovation projects in the Newport News/Hampton Roads market. This individual will manage all field operations, coordinate subcontractors, maintain project schedules, ensure safety compliance, and deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate has successfully managed projects in the $10M-$15M range and possesses strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

+ Oversee all field operations for construction projects.

+ Coordinate subcontractors to ensure efficient workflow.

+ Maintain and adhere to project schedules.

+ Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.

+ Deliver projects on time and within budget while maintaining high quality.

+ Lead and manage projects valued between $10M-$15M.

+ Manage multiple subcontractors and complex project schedules.

+ Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Essential Skills

+ 8+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.

+ Proven experience leading projects valued between $10M-$15M.

+ Strong understanding of commercial construction means and methods.

+ Proficiency with construction management software and scheduling tools.

+ Strong leadership and communication skills.

+ Valid driver's license and ability to work on-site full-time.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+

Experience with ground-up commercial, institutional, healthcare, education, or public-sector projects.

+ OSHA 30 certification.

+ First Aid/CPR certification.

+ Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $140000.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
