• Plan, design and oversee construction of new or expanded facilities
• Prepare architectural, engineering and cost estimates, functional studies, construction plans, specifications and schedules
• Obtain and supervise outside contractors
• Recommend architectural and engineering design procedures and standards
• Supervise detailed design, budgetary costing, standardized construction and final inspection of facility projects
• Conduct construction surveillance to ensure adherence to contractual requirements
• Provide engineering consulting services to local and divisional offices
• Review codes, calculations, drawings, specifications, constructability and material selections/substitutions
• Manage contractors and troubleshoot design or construction conflicts
• Provide technical solutions and perform project-specific safety assessments, audits, quality control and quality inspections
• Prepare startup and commissioning documents, checklists, operating procedures and training
• Resolve engineering problems encountered during construction and direct re-testing after problems during testing and operations
• Coordinate and manage multiple construction projects with stakeholders, customers, maintenance and operations personnel
• Prepare project cost estimates and work with third parties to develop pre-design studies
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Relevant Bachelor degrees that may be used in lieu of an ABET Engineering Degree:
Construction Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or relevant Construction degree - Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience;
Master's Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience; or Ph.D. and 4 years of experience - Applicable degree and three years of experience in an industrial environment
- Experience managing electrical, mechanical and structural work/systems associated with utility infrastructure, building and industrial construction projects
