Schedule:
Day shift; 07:00 AM – 05:30 PM
Call: Weeknight/weekend pager call preferred ; holiday shift/call preferred
Overtime: Not expected, but may be offered
Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $7,963 – $8,848
Charting System: Epic EMR
Care Model: MD/CRNA team; supervision ratio 1:4 ; MDs may also do their own cases
OR Capacity: 10 anesthesia rooms
Case Mix: General, Ortho, OB, Neuro, Urology, GYN, Endoscopy, Ophthalmology
Openings: 16
Job Requirements (Physician Qualifications)
Experience:
No minimum post-training anesthesiology experience required
M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
Completion of an ACGME/AOA-approved anesthesiology residency
Board Certified Anesthesiologist (board certification or fellowship required)
Active physician license (candidates needing to obtain Virginia medical licensure are accepted)
ECFMG and FLEX (if applicable)
Comfort working in a care-team environment and supervising CRNAs as needed
Responsibilities (General Anesthesia / Perioperative Care)
Provide safe, evidence-based anesthesia care across the listed case types
Perform pre-anesthesia assessments and develop individualized anesthetic plans
Obtain and/or verify informed consent; educate patients on anesthetic options and risks
Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
Continuously monitor and document patient physiologic status and respond to changes promptly
Perform clinical interventions (airway, hemodynamic, and pain management) as needed
Collaborate with surgeons, nursing, and perioperative services to optimize outcomes
Assist with directing and coordinating activities within the anesthesia department, as assigned
