Psychiatrist Behavioral Health

Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group (TPMG) is actively seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to join our team.

TPMG Behavioral Health is a busy, established out‑patient office seeking to grow their clinical team. We are looking for a full‑time BC/BE adult outpatient Psychiatrist to join our expanding team. At TPMG Behavioral Health our team values building trust with our patients so we can be a partner in their care. Our providers help manage psychological and physical symptoms to better balance the quality of life for all our patients.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members as well as with patients and be able to skillfully work in a self‑motivated and independent manner. Must be a team‑player who is an expert with medication management and building therapeutic rapport. The ideal candidate must be comfortable with treating general adult/geriatric population with mental, emotional and behavioral disorders and be able to evaluate patients to appropriately determine current mental status and need for medication as well as implement correct treatment plan.

On‑call is quarterly low volume and telephone only.

• Graduation from an accredited school of Medicine or DO school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• One or more years Psychiatry experience preferred
• The ideal candidate currently possesses or has the ability to obtain DEA, licensed to practice in State of Virginia, and a current BLS and ACLS certification.
• Ability to see 15‑18 patients per day (or more based on the candidate’s efficiency)
• Candidates must have a VA license
• COVID‑19 Vaccination is a requirement of the position.
