Opportunity for Night Float Anesthesiologist at Riverside Regional Medical Center - 1 week on/2 weeks off

Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA, provides the newest medical technology in a healing environment. It is the most comprehensive facility of its kind on the Virginia Peninsula. This short‑term acute care hospital with 300 beds is a voluntary nonprofit and a member of Riverside Health System. The hospital features a neonatal intensive care unit with 21 beds and neonatologists located on‑site.

Monday‑Sunday 7:00 PM‑7:00 AM – 1 week on / 2 weeks off

Our practice operates under a collaborative care team model. Our care team model means that we focus on giving everyone a voice, while supporting, respecting, and helping them to deliver care excellence.

• Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
• Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
• Pre‑anesthesia assessment
• Obtain and/or verify patient consent
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
• Performance of clinical intervention as needed

• M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
• ECFMG and FLEX
• Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
• Currently licensed as a physician
