Purpose of Position:
To teach individual courses, as needed, in the following areas in Fall 2025 and beyond.

Areas of Instruction- Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures
- Spanish
- French
- German
- Earned graduate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited university in a relevant discipline.
- 18 completed semester hours of related graduate coursework.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
- Background check required.
- Official transcripts required at the time of hire.
The Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures (MCLL) at Christopher Newport University is composed of 16 teacher‑scholars who are committed to undergraduate education and professional growth. The department offers instruction in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, ancient Greek, Italian, Latin, and Spanish, and provides majors, minors, and MAT degrees in Spanish and ESL. MCLL is a strong supporter of study abroad and mentors students on independent research projects.
