Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contracted School Psychologist position is available in Newport News, VA, starting ASAP through June 6, 2025. This role involves working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8:45 am to 3:45 pm. Schedules may vary depending on school assignments, with opportunities to negotiate caseloads based on your preferences.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct psychological assessments, testing, and diagnostic evaluations for students
- Recommend interventions to support student learning and address psychological challenges
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions
- Assist in the identification and appropriate placement of students in educational programs
- Implement behavior modification strategies
- Communicate regularly with parents and school staff to coordinate services
- Maintain detailed records and prepare progress reports
- Valid Virginia School Psychologist License required
- Experience in school-based psychological services preferred
