Senior Beverage Technologist
We are seeking a Senior Beverage Technologist with expertise in beverages and food for the development of projects that showcase new flavors in high-quality, creative finished products. This role involves utilizing the latest flavor trends, market launches, sensory capabilities, data processing, consumer insights, and technical information tailored to individual markets. The position requires managing beverage innovation teams and providing prototypes aligned with technology trends, as well as collaborating with sales, marketing, and food services to meet brand project needs.
Responsibilities- Create finished food and drink technologies, including new beverage formulations and specifications for transfer, filling, and mixing.
- Lead and direct beverage flavor innovation, including development of prototypes, specifications, processes, documentation, and finished product samples across various beverage categories.
- Identify and provide flavor, ingredient, and concept ideas for market launches and trends.
- Support beverage innovation by developing and transferring formulations for flexibility in technology, product launches, and new beverage flavor innovation teams.
- Collaborate and direct beverage flavor innovation teams for strategic launches and trends.
- Analyze and provide beverage flavor innovation insights and develop finished product prototypes for launches using sensory, market insights, and technical data.
- Provide support and documentation for beverage flavor innovation launches, samples, and finished products.
- Analyze and verify lab, technical, and sensory data.
- Provide support and technical direction in developing and producing beverage innovation launches of finished beverage prototypes, including managing new product applications and processes.
- 6-10+ years of experience in food and beverage industry.
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
- Experience in food manufacturing, laboratory testing and development, and biology.
- Specific experience in beverage/food development, chemistry, technology management, and sales.
Skills & Qualifications
- Leadership experience in a food and beverage environment.
- Expertise in flavor innovation.
You will work in a lab setting, mixing flavors and developing products as part of a small, intimate team within a family-owned company. This role offers exposure to the entire lifecycle of a flavor, collaborating with customers to develop the perfect product.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.80 - $48.07/hr.
