Travel required:

10–25% of the time. No security clearance required to start. Salary range: $89,000 to $110,000.

Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub‑assemblies and components, and quality testing. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.

• Support improvements to processes for determining and tracking obsolete material, driving efficiency and effectiveness in operations.
• Determine prioritization of replacement efforts, ensuring systems remain up‑to‑date.
• Research information needed to support engineering material reviews, staying at the forefront of industry developments and best practices.
• Provide technical review of resolutions for obsolete material, applying expertise to drive informed data‑driven decision making.
• Support development of technical documents for ordering requirements, ensuring seamless communication with stakeholders.
• Review technical responses to Navy supply system Liaison Action Requests concerning material obsolescence, providing expert guidance and oversight.
• Provide guidance to engineers, designers, and logistics support personnel, helping to shape the next generation of propulsion plant systems.

• Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of relevant exempt experience.
• Master’s Degree and 0 years of relevant professional experience.
• Required Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

• Experience with NIMITZ (A4W) and/or FORD (A1B) Class propulsion and reactor plant components.
• Familiarity with the Navy supply system (NSNs, APLs), including ordering requirements, material specifications, and qualification requirements.
• Excellent communication skills for discussing technical issues with technical and non‑technical personnel and suppliers.
• Understanding of obsolescence management principles and practices applicable to real‑world problems.
