This unpaid internship, available through the Hire Vets Now (HVN) Skill Bridge Program, is designed for U.S. military personnel in the final 180 days of active duty service. The intern will train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and senior leadership.
- Develop and write programs for numerically controlled machines based on engineering specifications and drawings.
- Analyze drawings to determine configuration of parts and sequencing of machine operations.
- Develop programs for machining parts, tools, or sheet metal on numerically controlled machine tools.
- Select appropriate cutters, speeds, feeds, and control systems while respecting machine limitations.
- Use program routines to calculate dimensional and machining requirements efficiently.
- Test and modify programs to accommodate engineering changes or improve performance.
- Current active-duty U.S. military service within the last 180 days, or transitioning personnel within the last 12 months.
- Ready to commit the internship during the final 180 days of active duty.
