Job DescriptionHII Mission Technologies is expanding its E25 Work Control Team in Newport News. We are seeking motivated candidates to provide Mechanical Work Control support for the CVN 75 Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH). This is a fully on-site role requiring presence at our Norfolk and Newport News, Virginia locations.
Job ResponsibilitiesProvides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency;
and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
AA or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years of related experience, or HS + 5 years related (DoD/USN) experience. Candidate must have knowledge and experience with Work Authorization Forms (WAF) and work permit processes. Candidate must have understanding and hands-on experience with ship mechanical systems (Fire main, H.P. & L.P. air, CHT, A/C, chilled water systems) and/or shipboard electrical power and distribution systems.
Candidate must have an active Department of Defense (DOD) SECRET security clearance. Candidate must have prior U.S. Navy/Shipyard experience with ESOMS/ETAG tagout systems. Candidate must have the ability to read and interpret system drawings and diagrams to determine system isolations for production work. Candidate must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment and perform ship checks on equipment as needed.
Prior US Navy Experience aboard NIMITZ Class Aircraft Carriers. Prior US Navy Experience in Hull, Mechanical and Electrical Ratings. Prior experience in a shipyard environment during overhaul.
Physical RequirementsJob performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the job. A waterfront office work environment is normally encountered.
