Job Details Description We have an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting one of our valued customers as an Electrical Technician, Senior to work out of Ft. Eustis, VA. PAY: $37.00 - $42.00/hr ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Fabricate electrical wiring harnesses, enclosures, and components required for system integration IAW provided engineering approved drawings for airworthiness. This includes the ability to assemble various connectors, soldering, and utilization of military specification approved components.
  • Provide input to aid in the development of electrical and mechanical systems, components, harness designs, mechanical designs, and installation methods to achieve manufacturability, airworthiness, and operational sustainment.
  • Participate in design reviews, drawing reviews, aiding in component selection, assembling wiring harnesses, setting up bench tests, installing aircraft wiring, mechanical mounting, configuring test fixtures, test monitoring, while adhering to quality control requirements per military and other appropriate engineering standards.
  • Inspect and test fabricated items and aircraft avionics utilizing test procedures, interface control documents (ICDs), modification work orders (MWOs), and engineering guidance applicable to the maturity of the system being supported.
  • Prepare and complete testing reports/checklists for tracking and traceability for each item.
  • Install electrical systems on aviation platforms in support of research and development, flight test instrumentation, and Program of Record (PoR) systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronics and avionics components for both crewed and uncrewed aircraft.
  • Complete aircraft and project logbook entries required along with review/approval from technical inspectors (TIs) IAW fabrication and airfield procedures.
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems to include aircraft avionics, instrumentation data acquisition components, ground support equipment, and telemetry infrastructure.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics for implementation as required.
  • Operate common powered and non-powered tools to include but not limited to; hand and pneumatic wire cutters/strippers, crimpers, drills, wire marker machine, and other electrical specialty tools.
  • Operate electronic verification and test equipment to include but not limited to; digital multimeter, power meter, oscilloscope, and spectrum analyzer.
  • Transport, pack, and set up test equipment and other materials locally and at offsite test facilities.
  • Support flight duties as required based upon Mission needs.
  • Oversee efforts of technical and less senior staff for the implementation of duties listed above.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of eight years of experience as electrical technician in electronics, signal harnesses, electrical systems, or avionics.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience interpreting and applying military specifications, ICDs, TMs, and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) AS50881 wiring standards to aerospace and aviation electrical systems.
  • Must be able to pass a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) III class or military Class III flight physical annually and provide a copy of their last Department of the Army (DA) Form 759 closeout performing flight duties as a qualified non-crew member as per AR 95-20, AR 95-1 and Training Circular (TC) 3-04.11, Commander's Aviation Training and Standardization Program.
  • Must be able to qualify for participation in night flights and the use of NVGs
  • Current and valid Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Driver's License
  • The ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • High School diploma or High School equivalency certificate.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ten years of experience as an electrical technician in a US Army Aviation R&D environment is highly desired.

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:
Secret TRAVEL:
Up to 25% in support of mission requirements in the form of site surveys, technical interchange meetings, training, testing support, and other critical tasks outside of the JBLE facilities. This includes assisting with equipment packing and movement as per mission requirements.
