- Establish and maintain engineering and design policies and standards across the company
- Provide centralized engineering leadership and coordination for quality and manufacturing issues crossing product lines
- Act as the Company's technical engineering expert for technical activities in the assigned Area of Responsibility
- Exercise delegated decision-making authority for the company and apprise the Director, Chief Engineer of final decisions
- Set standards across programs for engineering and design
- Evaluate and recommend digital tools
- Identify process gaps and recommend solutions
- Drive process efficiency and remove low-value roadblocks
- Establish and maintain training material supporting design standards
- Review, recommend, and drive completion of requirement changes requiring customer approval
- Support improvement initiatives
- Lead quality and self-assessment efforts within engineering
- Serve as Deputy CHENG (Principal Engineer) and Process and Standards lead
- Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design;
Master's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience;
PhD and 4 years of relevant experience - Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Final clearance required to start
- Extensive experience across all product lines within NNS
- Understanding of engineering, planning, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, and test processes across new construction and overhaul of aircraft carriers and submarines
- Ability to travel 10%-25% of the time
Demonstrates expertise in engineering leadership, design standards, and process efficiency within the context of manufacturing and quality assurance. Capable of evaluating digital tools and driving improvement initiatives across diverse product lines.
