About the Role

We’re seeking a Multimedia Environmental Compliance Consultant who will ensure environmental regulatory compliance across our projects. This role combines deep environmental compliance expertise with the ability to develop permits, reports, training, audits, and regulatory reporting. You will serve as a strategic advisor and technical lead, partnering with cross‑functional teams to improve compliance outcomes and strengthen environmental awareness throughout the organization. Your work will involve preparing and delivering high‑quality reports and presentations to clients’ technical and senior leadership, developing delivery strategies and client relationships, championing safety, quality, and the well‑being of your team, and mastering and promoting Jacobs’ solutions and technologies.

Based out of one of our Virginia offices (Virginia Beach or Richmond preferred), this position may require travel to client sites and occasional field assignments, while remaining predominantly office‑based.

Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering, or other closely related technical degree
  • Professional environmental compliance project experience, including permitting, monitoring, and reporting (preferably in consulting)
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous development and active engagement in professional networks, company communities of practice groups or similar
  • Experience with direct client interaction
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with clients, contractors, and teammates
  • Proven organizational, interpersonal, negotiation, leadership, and analytical skills
  • Experience with small, medium, or large‑scale client environmental consulting projects and representing clients to stakeholders including regulatory agencies
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations and regulatory processes
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • US citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering, or other closely related technical degree
  • Professional Engineer or Project Management Professional (PE or PMP) or ability to obtain and maintain
