Role Overview

KT2i is seeking an Analysis & Simulation Engineering Intern to support engineering initiatives related to heavy equipment systems. This internship provides hands‑on experience working alongside engineering professionals on structured projects and technical assignments. The internship duration is expected to last between 6 months and 1 year.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineering staff on projects outlined in an individualized intern training plan.
  • Support analysis, simulation, and design activities related to heavy equipment systems.
  • Work independently and as part of a team with engineers, designers, and production personnel.
  • Assist with ad hoc engineering projects as assigned.
  • Support installation, testing, and analysis of components or complete machines.
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Active student in good academic standing with at least 60 credit hours completed toward a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling and CAD drafting tools or related design software.
  • Ability to identify and understand components of drive systems, control systems, hydraulic systems, and mechanical systems.
  • Basic understanding of design and installation processes, with the ability to assist in testing and analysis.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, maintenance manuals, and procedural documentation.
  • Working knowledge of algebra, probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical applications.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to follow written, verbal, or diagram‑based instructions.

This internship is designed to provide practical engineering experience in a professional environment and is expected to last between six months and one year.
