- Serve as the lead electrical engineer for the FORD Class Valve Actuator Engineering team
- Support development of a new electro-mechanical actuator series
- Support in-service electro-mechanical actuators
- Design new actuator motors and controller circuit card assemblies
- Conduct electrical qualification, including EMI, MIL-STD-1399 electrical power, motor characterization, and operational testing
- Support root-cause analysis of technical issues with in-service actuators
- Manage obsolescence of in-service and future actuators
- Mentor and develop junior electrical engineers
- Research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks
- Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience; or Master’s Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience; or Ph.D. and 4 years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
- U.S. citizenship required
- Familiarity with motor controllers and circuit card design
- Familiarity with induction and permanent magnet motors
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
Demonstrates expertise in electrical engineering with a focus on electro-mechanical actuator design, development, and testing. Capable of mentoring junior engineers while managing technical issues and obsolescence in actuator systems.
