The Role

Prepares and coordinates the plans and schedules for new or existing programs. Determines, monitors, and reviews costs, operational budgets and schedules, and manpower requirements. Supports and participates in negotiations with customer. Analyzes effects of projects upon various areas such as Engineering, Facilities, and the labor pool to determine the most practical and cost-efficient methods to obtain the required resources. Resolves proposal preparation problems and assesses the progress against established plans and parameters.

Formulates and recommends corrective action measures such as schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, fund allocations, and work requirements.

Aircraft Carrier Engineering program office seeks dedicated analysts to make our business work!

You’ll be working on the following types of challenges:

  • Coordinating our upcoming work for aircraft carriers, especially engineering that we’re performing
  • Helping our Ship Design Managers (SDM’s) sort through their data and track the work we’re doing
  • Prepare presentations, briefs for our bosses, and manage a large flow of data as work gets completed
  • Track our spending and report how we’re doing
  • Represent Engineering at meetings with a range of shipyard departments and present our progress and timelines
  • Estimate how many hours it will take to complete our jobs and help us progress our work as we go
  • Help our engineering and design workforce with access to Navy bases and ships and coordinate the work that takes place outside our facility
  • Manage a whole lot of products we’re working and help us stay on track

We’ll want to make sure you have the following:

  • Good program management skills
  • An ability to use the Microsoft Office suite and some standard analysis tools
  • A willingness to interact professionally with a diverse range of people and personalities

Some niceties in case you have them:

  • Experience with data analytics
  • Familiarity with overhauling and modernizing Navy ships
  • Ability to read Navy-style drawings and engineering write-up’s
  • Background in federal contracting work and all the deliverables that come with it

This position is in E49, which is the Project Office of Aircraft Carrier Engineering. We manage a lot of the work that affects all our departments.
