This role involves overseeing the financial management and accounting operations, presenting financial status to top management, developing financial strategies, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and leading the Finance and Accounting Department.

Responsibilities

• Present the company's financial status to the President, Directors, and other managers when required.
• Direct the financial affairs of the company, including preparation of interim and annual financial statements, supporting schedules, and internal reports.
• Develop, analyze, and interpret financial data to assess profitability, budget performance, and overall fiscal health.
• Furnish internal and external financial reports for stakeholders, including the parent company, banks, external auditors, and public authorities.
• Advise the President on financial improvements and implement approved actions.
• Ensure the company is not exposed to significant financial risks affecting company objectives.
• Provide consolidated financial statements within 5-7 business days a month.
• Maintain accurate and transparent accounting records in compliance with applicable standards and legal requirements.
• Supervise general accounting, cost accounting, and reconciliation of accounts.
• Audit accounts for accurate bookkeeping and conduct internal audits annually.
• Coordinate and execute annual financial and tax audits with external audit firms.
• Lead the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Oversee tax planning and reporting for accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and evaluate investment opportunities.
• Provide vision, leadership, and strategic direction for the Finance and Accounting Department.
• Supervise and evaluate department personnel.
• Prepare and process payroll for company executives and expatriates.
• Lead initiatives to improve financial practices and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and tax regulations.
• Demonstrate adaptability and openness to change in a dynamic business environment.

Essential Skills

• 7+ years progressive experience in finance & accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• Experience consolidating financial statements and managing external audits.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and vlookups.
• Ability to present ideas to President & Leadership.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Business Central ERP.
• Experience in manufacturing/distribution environments.

Work Environment

Work is 100% on-site, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. The headquarters is in Japan, and top leadership includes Japanese personnel. This role involves managing two team members, one in Accounts Receivable and one in Accounts Payable/Purchasing.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.

Client benefits - Leave time - 18 days the 1st year, 1 day each additional year up to 28 days max - 10 paid holidays a year - 401k - employer match 100% of 1st 1%, 50% of the next 5% up to a 2.5% match - Health, Dental, Vision - Client pays 80% of premium - Flexible benefits program - Pre-Tax benefit - Life insurance (twice annual salary) and short term & long term disability insurances are 100% company paid - Client will pay for job related education & training
