TPMG Behavioral Health are looking for a full-time Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join their busy team to provide mental health care, life skill coaching, and behavioral and emotional development support to their patients.
Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group (TPMG), formerly Tidewater Primary Care Physicians, P.C., was formed in 1992 with four primary care medical groups in Newport News, Hampton, and Yorktown, Virginia. Today, TPMG has over 85 locations and has expanded its practices to include over 220 primary care, specialty physicians, and advanced practice clinicians who provide care to patients throughout the Hampton Roads and southeastern Virginia.
- Full-time position:
Monday-Thursday 8am–5pm and Friday 8am-3pm - One to two nights a week shared on-call schedule

- Assist clients in receiving services in person.
- Responsible for getting clients involved in beneficial activities.
- Assess clients and gather relevant information.
- Establish course of action by exploring options; setting goals with client.
- Offer information and support clients and their families.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
- Participating training, supervision, and meetings
- Responsible for providing Crisis intervention.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of crisis intervention.
- Ability to work scheduled hours as defined in the employment agreement.
- Ability to give full attention to what social service clients are saying, understand the points being made, ask questions and not interrupt appropriately.
- Ability to remain calm and empathize with clients when they are upset.
- Skill in working with clients that are affected by issues including neglect, domestic violence, mental health, and parental substance abuse.
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field.
- Valid and current LCSW or LPC license.
