Certified Peer Recovery Specialist – Newport News, VA
Responsibilities- Engage actively in treatment team meetings, sharing your lived experience expertise.
- Maintain regular contact with referral sources and provide updates on client progress.
- Conduct concurrent reviews and complete medical record documentation promptly.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all client interactions.
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives and peer record reviews.
- Build and foster professional relationships with clients, staff, and external partners.
- Provide transportation for clients to access essential community resources.
- Participate in emergency services duty on rotation, including crisis assessments and hospital diversions.
- Certification:
Must have a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist certificate. - Education:
Associate’s degree in a Human Services-related field preferred. - General Requirements:
- Strong ethical values and mature judgment.
- Cultural competency training.
- Valid driver’s license and references.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively as part of a treatment team.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve issues independently or in a group setting.
- Ability to handle crises calmly and effectively.
- Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work environment.
- Commitment to teamwork and continuous improvement.
Monday–Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM OR Evening Hours (12pm-8pm)
