Position OverviewThe Senior Network Engineer plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure enterprise network infrastructure across Layers 2 through
7. This position demands expert-level knowledge in routing, switching, firewalls, Wi‑Fi, and Network Access Control (NAC), with a focus on high availability, performance, and security. The ideal candidate will lead technical initiatives, ensure compliance with change control processes, and mentor junior engineers while contributing to strategic network design and continuous improvement. This role is essential to maintaining the integrity and resilience of the organization’s digital infrastructure.
- Design and implement advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 configurations to ensure high availability and redundancy.
- Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot OSPF and EIGRP routing protocols.
- Deploy and manage firewall policies, NAT rules, and access control lists (ACLs).
- Implement and maintain NAC solutions including device profiling, posture assessment, and role‑based access policies using Cisco ISE or Aruba Clear Pass.
- Support segmentation strategies using VRFs and assist in the deployment of BGP and MPLS technologies.
- Monitor network performance, analyze logs, and proactively resolve complex issues.
- Own change control processes and maintain accurate, up‑to‑date network documentation.
- Mentor junior engineers and actively participate in design reviews and technical discussions.
- Advanced understanding of L2 switching and strong knowledge of L3–L7 networking principles.
- Proficiency in OSPF and EIGRP routing protocols, including advanced configuration and troubleshooting.
- Hands‑on experience with firewall technologies, NAT, ACLs, and application‑layer troubleshooting (DNS, DHCP, HTTP, HTTPS).
- Experience with Wi‑Fi integration and NAC solutions such as Cisco ISE or Aruba Clear Pass.
- Familiarity with VRFs, route leaking, BGP, and MPLS concepts.
- Knowledge of QoS fundamentals including classification, marking, and queuing.
- Experience with network performance monitoring tools and change control procedures.
- Strong documentation skills and ability to mentor junior team members.
- Preferred: CCNP certification (not required).
