Job Description

The Technical Report Writer and Documentation Specialist compiles and produces all client-facing deliverables for this engagement — from weekly status reports to final assessment reports covering seven service areas. You are not a passive editor. You work closely with the technical team during active phases, understand what was found, and translate findings into documents that serve two audiences: NNPS leadership who need to understand business risk, and NNPS IT staff who need to understand what to fix and how

Responsibilities
  • Produce the final assessment report for each of the seven service areas, including executive summaries, technical findings, business impact analysis, and prioritized remediation guidance.
  • Write weekly or bi-weekly written status reports for NNPS detailing project progress, completed activities, and non-critical initial findings.
  • Format all deliverables for dual audiences — non-technical executive leadership and technical IT staff.
  • Maintain the master project timeline and Gantt chart, tracking milestones and flagging schedule deviations to the Project Manager.
  • Prepare briefing materials for the formal kick-off meeting, close-out meeting, and final report presentation.
  • Organize and package all final files and data for formal contract close-out handoff.
  • Collaborate actively with penetration testers, analysts, and the Project Manager throughout the engagement to ensure accuracy.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3 or more years of technical writing experience in a cybersecurity, IT, or government contracting environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical security findings into clear language for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience producing formal deliverable reports, not just internal documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail — accuracy in findings documentation directly affects client remediation decisions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and standard project documentation tools.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience writing security assessment reports covering penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, or compliance findings.
  • Background in or exposure to NIST 800-53, FISMA, or comparable frameworks.
  • Experience working on government contracting or SLED (state, local, education) engagements.
  • Ability to produce Gantt charts and project timeline documentation.
