The Microsoft 365 Certified:
Collaboration Communications Systems Engineer Associate supports the deployment, administration, sustainment, and optimization of Microsoft Teams Telephony capabilities across the Department of the Navy’s Naval Enterprise Networks (NEN) and Flank Speed environment.
This position supports enterprise voice capabilities including audio conferencing, direct dial functionality, commercial and Defense Switched Network (DSN) numbering, and the integration of Microsoft Teams with the Flank Speed Tenant, Network Transport, and DISA DoD 365 Integrated Phone System (DIPS). Working collaboratively with Navy, DISA, Government, and contractor stakeholders, the engineer supports reliable
enterprise communications, resolves technical issues, monitors service performance, and helps scale Teams Telephony capabilities across the Naval Enterprise. Additionally, the engineer oversees the lifecycle, deployment, and configuration of enterprise end-user collaboration hardware, including Teams desk phones and meeting space video conferencing systems.
Primary Responsibilities1. Teams Telephony Administration & Service Delivery
Support the deployment, configuration, administration, and sustainment of Microsoft Teams Telephony capabilities within the Navy Flank Speed environment.
Responsibilities include:- Administer Microsoft Teams Telephony services, including audio conferencing and direct dial capabilities.
- Support commercial and DSN telephone number provisioning and management.
- Support integration between the Flank Speed Tenant, Network Transport, and DISA DIPS.
- Configure and maintain Teams voice and collaboration capabilities in accordance with Navy and DoD requirements.
- Support phased expansion and scaling of Teams Telephony services across the Naval Enterprise.
- Support automation of service delivery through FsAST efforts and test, validate, and implement automated service-delivery processes.
- Administer, provision, and plan for the lifecycle of enterprise end-user hardware, including Teams desk phones and meeting room video conferencing peripherals.
Provide technical support for Teams Telephony users and enterprise communications services while ensuring reliable operation of voice and collaboration capabilities.
Responsibilities include:- Troubleshoot Teams voice, calling, conferencing, connectivity, and service-delivery issues.
- Investigate and resolve issues affecting individual users and enterprise services.
- Coordinate resolution of technical dependencies involving DISA, Flank Speed, Network Transport, and associated enterprise services.
- Support Emergency Response/E911 implementation and associated technical requirements.
- Assist users and technical stakeholders with Teams Telephony configuration and operational issues.
- Coordinate complex technical issues with appropriate Government, DISA, and contractor stakeholders.
Monitor Teams Telephony performance, availability, usage, and service quality to support reliable enterprise operations and continued service improvement.
Responsibilities include:- Monitor Call and Meeting Usage, User Activity, Call Quality, Network Performance, Service Availability, System Performance, and Quality of Service (QoS).
- Utilize Microsoft 365 Admin Center, Teams Admin Center, Power Shell cmdlets, Call Quality Dashboard, Service Health Dashboard, and usage reporting tools.
- Identify performance trends, recurring technical issues, and opportunities for service improvement.
- Analyze system performance and user adoption data and recommend improvements based on operational data and feedback.
