OUTSIDE MACHINIST – EXPERIENCED

, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, as an Outside Machinist. This full‑time role assigns responsibility for installing, grooming, and testing the ship’s major mechanical components and systems on commercial or naval ships in various stages of new construction, overhaul or repair.

• Three (3) or more years of experience as a machinist, machinist mate, mechanic/automotive repairman, engine man, heavy equipment repairman or similar.
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S. and 18+ years of age.
• Must be able to climb ladders, work in small or confined spaces, kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, lift heavy objects weighing 40 lbs. or more, work while repeatedly reaching overhead, work indoors or outdoors year‑round, work in areas with radiation, take and pass a respirator fit test, work assigned shift as production needs, and take and pass a Physical Agility Test.

Prior mechanical experience such as automotive repair, plant maintenance, machinery installation/repair, and successful completion of a technical/vocational program in machining, diesel technology, automotive, HVAC, or mechanical.
