Job Title
Supervise and deliver quality psychiatric and chemical dependency nursing care to all client populations. To serve actively and constructively as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team, supporting the facility philosophy of nursing care; to ensure safety and well being of each client. Provide administrative support to staff during after-hour hospital operations. Schedules and monitors the facility nursing staff thereby securing nursing staff to client ratio.
Job Description
Responsibilities Shift: 7PM-7AM (Rotational Weekends) Newport News Behavioral Health Center is a 108 bed intensive and highly structured residential treatment for psychiatric and behavioral health needs of adolescent males and females ages 11-18yrs. Newport News has an on-site certified school, therapists, and vocational programming. Newport News, VA is a beautiful seaside city, rich in maritime history and conveniently located to DC and other major North Eastern cities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviewing all variance reports, determining methods of correction, and communicating pertinent findings to Administration and Performance Improvement personnel.
- Collaboration with nursing and community counseling staff to ensure implementation of the facility's designated program
- Ongoing collaboration with Department Directors and/or other facility designated disciplines to ensure proper medical/technical operations.
- Represent and/or ensure representation of nursing services in order to complete all required nursing functions in the weekly multidisciplinary Treatment Team Staff Meetings.
- Maintains familiarity with client population treatment goals to ensure and assist in the delivery of care.

Qualifications
- Current RN licensure.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Experience in Psychiatric Nursing desirable.
- Preferred 1 year experience working and/or treating adolescents.
- Able to communicate effectively in English through written and verbal means.
- Ability to effectively supervise and/or direct the implementation of individualized nursing care.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluation of situations and/or making nursing decisions.
