Plastic Surgery Center of Hampton Roads is looking to add a responsible and caring part-time RN to our team. Excellent communication skills are a must in our highly collaborative and fast-paced environment. Candidate must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia. Traveling required between Newport News and Williamsburg practices.
ResponsibilitiesPre-Op Duties
- Perform and document patient health status prior to surgery through physical examinations, vitals, current medications, and medical history
- Verification of informed consent
- Administering preoperative medications as prescribed
Operating Room Duties
- Assist with surgery and perform related tasks as directed
- Maintenance of aseptic technique within a controlled environment
- Management of surgical equipment and supplies
Recovery Room Duties
- Monitoring physiologic status of patient such as vital signs, bleeding, and fluid balance
- Completion of postoperative documents
Clinic Duties
- Assist surgeon with clinic appointment including consults and post operative visits
- Schedule and process paperwork for patient tests, procedures, labs, and office appointments
- Assist surgeon with minor procedures including documentation
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- BS or diploma in nursing
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing and working with patients.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
- 2 days a week (occasionally 3 if needed for coverage)
- Schedule is made a few weeks in advance
