Warehouse Specialist

Location: Newport News, Virginia (JBLE)

Work Schedule: Full-time, Day shift

Compensation: $22.38/hr

• Move inventory into and out of the warehouse, as needed.
• Move inventory between locations within warehouse.
• Ensure all equipment is stored and stacked in a safe manner.
• Ensure daily maintenance is performed on all forklifts and vehicles.
• Operate vehicle in support of all IPBO functions.
• Operate vehicle in accordance with all applicable civilian and government regulations.
• Issue and receive turn ins of ceremonial flags.
• Receive turn ins from supported customers.
• Issue equipment to supported customers.
• Process turn ins to Supply Support Activity (SSA).
• Locate items within the IPBO warehouse.
• Relocate and remove materials without damage and in a safe manner.
• Load and unload trucks utilizing the forklift or pallet jack.
• Transport materials from their point of origin to their destination as specified in each work order and issue in a timely manner.
• Operate material handling equipment in and around Fort Eustis, SSA.
• Be qualified to operate a 2K forklift through a 6K forklift.

• Working knowledge of a Central Issue Facility is preferred.
• Basic working knowledge of storage requirements as described in TM 743-200 Series.
• Physically capable of transporting, storing, issuing, and receipting for materials and merchandise.
• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Ability to work effectively as a team.

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
• May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time.
• Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking; standing or sitting for several hours, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up/down stairs may also be required.
• Must persevere under pressure for extended periods of time.

• Valid state driver’s license required with ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance carrier.
• Must obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E‑Verify will be conducted for this position.
