HV Fitter (GIA/AIS)

• Installing and maintaining HV equipment and switch gear, including AIS and GIS systems up to 132kV
• Working on power transformers, protection panels, battery chargers, SCADA/telecontrol panels, and more
• Interpreting technical drawings, setting out installation work, and ensuring all activities comply with design specs and safety standards
• Collaborating with engineers, project managers and clients to ensure efficient, safe delivery of work

Skills and experience

• DNO industry experience in the UK
• A proven track record in the construction, repair, and operation of HV equipment up to 132kV
• An NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation work
• A sound knowledge of HV and LV systems and experience working as an Electrician (advantageous)
• Familiarity with a range of switch gear, protection types, and installation/maintenance procedures
• Competency using testing equipment and diagnostic tools
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team and independently
• A flexible approach to completing standby and out-of-hours work
• A full UK driving licence – travel is essential in this role
