Loading Shovel Driver

Newport, NP11 7HZ

£14p/h, paid weekly, every Friday

Monday to Friday

6am - 5pm or 5pm - 4am

Earn a £130 bonus per weekend day worked

Our client, a leading business within the waste and recycling industry, is looking for an experienced Loading Shovel Operator to join their busy site. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and safety-conscious operator seeking stable, ongoing work with a well-established company.

As a Loading Shovel Operator, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the site, ensuring materials are moved safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely and efficiently operate a loading shovel to move waste and recyclable materials around the site.
  • Carry out daily pre-start inspections and routine maintenance checks, reporting any defects promptly.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with company Health & Safety procedures, environmental legislation, and site rules.
  • Work closely with site supervisors, plant operators, and colleagues to achieve daily production targets.
  • Follow site traffic management procedures and remain aware of pedestrians, mobile plant, and other vehicles at all times.
  • Wear and maintain the required PPE and promote safe working practices across the site.
  • Assist with general yard and recycling plant duties when required.
  • Operate other mobile plant equipment where trained and authorised to support site operations.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience operating a loading shovel in a waste, recycling, quarry, construction, or industrial environment.
  • A valid Loading Shovel Operator licence or competency certificate.
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
  • Reliable, hardworking, and able to work as part of a team.
  • Flexible approach to supporting site operations.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
