They are now looking for an enthusiastic Light Vehicle maintenance and Repair Technician apprentice to join their experienced workshop team.

GTG Training are recruiting for a Light Vehicle maintenance and Repair Technician apprentice on behalf of Ponthir Group.

This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are ready to advance their career within the automotive industry.

The Apprenticeship Programmes allow apprentices to work full time andearn while they learn putting theory into practice within a training environment.

Youwill train through GTGWolverhampton, by attending block release training weeks,to achieve a Level2 Light Vehicle maintenance and Repair Technician qualification. Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace which aims to ensure you have the required skills to successfully complete your apprenticeship.

You will be based within the garage workshop and will be involved in learning all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, removal, replacement and overhaul of major components and electrical fault diagnostics.

Examples of the units covered are:

• Materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment
• Inspection of light vehicles
• Diagnosing and rectifying chassis units and components
• Diagnosing and rectifying vehicle engines andcomponentfaults
• Ensuring your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
• Contributing to workplace good housekeeping

Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace with dedicated mentors from GTG and the apprentice’s workplace, which aims to ensure you have the required skills to successfully complete your apprenticeship.

GCSE 4/Level 2 or above in Maths, English

• Youare able to prioritise and work to timelines.
• A willingness to work in a practical environment using your own initiative.
• A full UK Driving licence is not essential but preferred.
