Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m.–4:30 p.m. - Students typically work 15–25 hours per week during Fall and Spring
- Summer hours may be available up to 35 hours per week
- Schedules are set at the start of each semester and adjusted around class schedules
- Students are not scheduled outside posted office hours
- Finals-week flexibility is provided
The Student Records Assistant supports the Office of the University Registrar by serving as a primary phone contact for the office. The main responsibility of this position is answering incoming phone calls, providing general information, and routing questions to appropriate staff or campus offices.
This role also includes light student records processing and administrative support tasks. Training is provided. No prior experience with university systems or academic policy is required.
This position is best suited for students who are comfortable with phone-based work and interested in gaining professional office experience in higher education.
Primary Responsibilities- Answering and routing multi-line phone calls
- Providing clear, professional assistance to callers
- Sharing general information related to registration, records, and academic processes
- Routing complex or policy-specific questions to appropriate staff
- Performing basic data entry and student records processing tasks
- Electronic document review and organization
- Indexing and maintaining digital records according to office procedures
- Assisting with special projects as assigned
- Call volume varies throughout the semester, with predictable peak periods.
- FERPA and student privacy requirements
- Phone and customer service standards
- University systems and tools used by the office
- Common academic processes and terminology
- Clear verbal communication skills
- Comfort answering phone calls in a professional setting
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
