Project Coordinator/Construction Manager
The Project Coordinator/Construction Manager is responsible for assisting management of all construction associated with Darling and its subsidiaries.
Assisting in management of all construction activities that are associated with Darling Ingredients and any of its subsidiaries.
Responsible for assisting in the selection or procurement of plant equipment and listing supplies necessary for the construction of plants or facilities operated by Darling.
Responsible for the procurement, supervision, and the safety of sub-contractors hired to help in the construction of facilities or buildings.
Responsible for the supervision of Darling employees used to construct or install equipment.
Responsible for assisting in the start-up of installed equipment.
Responsible for the upkeep of tools and equipment owned by Darling and utilized by oneself or others under his supervision or co-workers.
Responsible for communicating with plant management on the proper operation of equipment.
Assist construction managers on job costs and tracking.
Responsible for the safe operations of all equipment and tools on all jobs at plants or facilities owned by Darling.
Oversee on the job contractors "hands on" fabrication of equipment; cutting, welding, installation and equipment layout.
All other duties as assigned.
High school diploma required, college degree in related field preferred.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the area of construction/project management.
Millwright experience in addition to rendering experience.
Good general mechanical background.
Good working relationship with others; team player.
Professional manner and attitude a must.
Occasionally lift 100 lbs.
Frequently twists, tug, pull and stretch.
Occasional long hours required to complete project.
Constant travel required; flying and driving to the jobsites.
Frequently projects require completion on nights and weekends during equipment change out.
Frequently walk, sit, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, and stoop.
Occasionally climb and work above ground up to 50 ft.
Job functions will be carried out indoor and outside in plant environment and/or in personal vehicle as required. Temperature will fluctuate depending on outside conditions. Mechanical repairs sometimes require being in greasy locations.
