Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform minor troubleshooting techniques on plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Perform daily planned and unplanned maintenance functions with minimal support.
- Operate machine tools such as drill press and power saw following company safety training.
- Work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Work in and around all species and types of animals.
- Perform common painting and minor drywall repairs.
- Perform minor plumbing work and services.
- Perform minor electrical repairs (e.g., ballast replacement, lamp replacement, receptacle replacement, light switches).
- Perform basic carpentry skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities & Maintenance Manager.
- High school diploma or GED; vocational school preferred or equivalent experience demonstrating ability to perform duties.
- Ability to work afternoons/evenings:
Wednesday through Saturday, 8 pm to 6:30 am. - Driver's license with a clean driving record within the last 3 years.
- Safety‑critical position subject to random drug screening.
- Successful completion of post‑offer, pre‑employment drug screening and criminal background check.
- In good health and capable of performing strenuous and/or heavy physical labor.
- No history of allergies related to animals or plants that might interfere with work ability.
- Ability to remain on feet for long periods, climb stairs, bend, stoop, climb ladders, step ladders, and scaffolding to heights of 25 ft.
- Physical strength, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Immunocompetence; possible exposure to infections and parasitic disease.
- Starting pay rate: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour.

Position may involve exposure to inclement weather, dust, potentially dangerous and unpredictable animal species, potentially dangerous machinery, restraint devices, and toxic chemicals and/or drugs. Occasional use of protective clothing or equipment is required, for example goggles, mask, gloves, and gowns.
