Materials Handler Warehouse Team Lead

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate powered and manual equipment to OSHA/Company safety standards.
• Prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis.
• Maintain excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to function in a fast-paced, multi‑functional environment where priorities can change.
• Maintain and input inventory transfers from our facilities.
• Be accountable to team members and manager, and be reliable to work when scheduled.

• Communicate verbally in a pleasant, professional, accurate, consistent and detailed manner.

• Maintain facility materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion while ensuring proper stock rotation.
• Work indoors and outdoors throughout all seasons.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with all departments.
• Frequently inventory and count product.
• Load, unload, move, stack, count and stage materials in appropriate areas in accordance with company specifications.
• Support and supply departments with required stock for retail and other areas.
• Oversee shipping and receiving procedures for the warehouse.
• Supervise the loading and unloading of trucks related to merchandise inventory and aquarium deliveries; check receipts against approved purchase orders and packing lists for the retail department; ensure proper data entry into the inventory system.
• Ensure proper tagging of products with correct stock numbers; supervise storage of all merchandise and ensure such products are properly located and easily obtainable.
• Coordinate dock usage and staging with all departments for events and special projects.
• Daily pick‑up and delivery of mail, Fed Ex and other small deliveries.
• Be self‑motivated and work independently while remaining disciplined and reliable.
• Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned.

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, build and motivate a team.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Three (3) years of previous experience in warehouse operations preferred.
• Must be able to safely operate warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack).
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean record in the last three (3) years.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service and problem‑solve without assistance.
• Comfortable working with Microsoft Office products including Outlook and inventory management programs.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Successful completion of a pre‑employment criminal background check and motor vehicle operator check.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Physical strength, including extended periods of sitting on forklift, lifting 50+ pounds, standing for long periods, pushing, pulling, bending and stooping.

Position will involve exposure to inclement weather, dust, potentially dangerous and unpredictable animal species, potentially dangerous machinery, restraint devices, and toxic chemicals and/or drugs.
