Job Summary / Purpose
Responsible for staffing and scheduling of nursing/ancillary staff, time/attendance, agency/registry utilization and clerical support for Trauma Services, Infection Prevention, House Supervisors and others as assigned. Provides leadership, training, support and back‑up for Staffing Supervisor and department manager as needed.
Department DescriptionThe Nursing Administration teams at Samaritan Health Services are committed to providing leadership and operational support for our hospitals.
Experience / Education / Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred.
- Two (2) years experience in a patient care unit or other professional department required.
- Experience and/or training with office equipment required.
- Experience and/or training in computer applications required.
- Experience and/or training in receptionist skills and clerical functions (including filing) required.
- For PCH Nursing Administration:
One (1) year staffing/scheduling experience in a healthcare setting, or 18 months experience in a patient care unit or other professional department (in addition to qualification #2) required.
- Staffing:
Knowledge of policy and procedures related to staff benefits and expectations for both contractual and non‑contractual staff. Knowledge of Union contracts pertaining to time and attendance. - Time Management:
Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines and follow up on pending issues. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment under pressure. - Communication:
Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and discuss issues tactfully. - Customer Service:
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service, including needs assessment, meeting quality standards, and evaluating satisfaction. - Computer Literacy:
Proficiency in computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, information systems). Knowledge of time‑keeping system capabilities.

Continually (67 – 100 % of the time).
