Early Childhood Lead Site Coordinator

Overview

Lincoln County School District is accepting online applications from current staff for an Early Childhood Lead Site Coordinator at the Early Learning Center at Yaquina View.

• Coordinates preschool program for children and families at assigned site through collaboration with staff, students, parents/guardians, and identified community partners.
• Responsible for understanding and maintaining Oregon Early Learning Division and Preschool Promise quality standards.
• Follow a consistent routine which includes small and large group activities, skill development, choice-time, music and art, structured physical activity, free play, and effective transitions between activities.
• Arrange the classroom environment to encourage exploration, problem solving, team-building/positive socialization, choice-making, and an area for downtime.
• Develop and implement developmentally appropriate activities that include all developmental domains (social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and language/literacy) for children in the preschool program.
• Demonstrates an awareness of and sensitivity to multicultural and multilingual values and environments.
• Manages student behavior issues as needed, takes appropriate action, and contacts parents and Early Learning Coordinator.
• Communicate regularly with families about their child's progress in the classroom, and review the results and implications of all developmental screenings, throughout the program year.
• Schedules developmentally appropriate activities for children in the preschool program.
• Refers families to community resources such as health, mental health, and dental services.
• Build relationships with staff and parents to achieve excellent education of children.
• Support the role of families as the first and primary teachers of their children and assist families in understanding child development and positive parenting techniques.
• Responds to questions and other information requests from parents, participants, public, staff, and administration.
• Ensure all adults in the classroom understand and practice positive behavior management.
• Ensure all adults in the classroom know the safety, health, and emergency management policies and procedures.
• Complies with professional development activities as required by the district.
• Establishes and maintains a positive and respectful learning environment and working relationship with students, staff, administration, parents/guardians, and community members.
• Attends monthly staff meetings and other district and ELD trainings as required by the program.
• Trains and provides leadership to new classroom aides and high school students with assistance and direction from the Early Learning Coordinator.
• Compiles monthly and quarterly reporting data and provides reports to the Early Learning Coordinator.
• Collects and monitors attendance records for students and staff.
• Promote a learning environment consistent with required government regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Education and/or Experience
  :
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) Preschool Credential, or step level 8 as determined by the Oregon Registry Online (ORO).
  • OR an associate degree with additional training or additional certification in early childhood education or a field related to early childhood education, as determined by the Division.
  • OR a bachelor's degree in: (A) Early childhood education or a field related to early childhood education; or (B) a field not related to early childhood education but teacher has completed coursework that is equivalent to a major in early childhood education and has sufficient training in early childhood education as determined by the Division.
• Work experience with young children ages three through six years.
• Ability to work on floor, pick-up and carry young children.
• Ability to plan and implement appropriate daily activities for children ages 3-5.
• Ability to obtain Infant-Toddler First Aid/CPR certification, Food Handlers, and Criminal Background Registry.

• Qualifying experience in a certified early childhood education facility or comparable program.
• Training or college level courses focused on ages 3-5.
• Experience working with high school students.

Position available at Yaquina View – 1.0 FTE (8 hours). Starting salary: $21.43 – $23.65 per hour (2025–2026 rate).
