Position Summary
Lincoln County Community Justice is looking for a Parole and Probation Officer to assist the team. This position will investigate, supervise, counsel and direct adult offenders consistent with the agency mission, statutory requirements, and the offender conditions of supervision established by releasing authorities. Duties are performed consistent with ORS 137.630.
Pay$30.65 - $41.22 per hour*

- Arrest, detain, search, and transport offenders.
- Provide investigative services regarding offenders placed in the community by releasing authorities.
- Make court appearances and provide testimony.
- Conduct assessments to determine offender risk/needs and case planning.
- Maintain chronological case histories.
- Monitor offender compliance and progress.
- Collect urine samples for testing.
- Visit offenders in home and in the field.
- Transport offenders.
- Coordinate treatment, housing, and community resources to assist offenders.
- Prepare legal documents and provide court testimony.
- Act as liaison with the public, Parole Board, LSA, FTO, law enforcement, and other agencies.
- Provide community education and interact with community partners and other law enforcement.
- Coordinate treatment and community referrals for services.
- Train other Probation Officers (PTO) as needed.
- Enter offender data through the statewide CIS/OMS system.
- Maintain accurate and complete case files.

- Education:
Bachelor’s degree. - Experience:
None; substitution possible as described.
A satisfactory combination of education, experience, and/or certified law enforcement training; or 2 years’ experience in a criminal justice setting may be substituted for education on a per year basis.
Certifications- Be able to acquire LEDS and CIS certification.
- Ability to pass and maintain DPSST Certification and firearms certification.
Oregon Driver's License required within 30 days of hire.
Desirable QualificationsPrior experience in the criminal justice field.

- Use of Force
- Offender Sanctioning Grid
- Motivational interviewing techniques
- Maintain CJIS clearance
- Be sworn and certified Parole and Probation Officer; maintain required training to keep certification
- Physical capability to interact combatively with offender
- Hold firearms certification
