Summary

The Bottle Drop Center Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations of assigned Bottle Drop Redemption Center. The ideal candidate will act in a positive, professional manner while supervising a team of employees to meet business and safety demands. Additional responsibilities include customer service, cash handling, maintaining equipment, loading and unloading trailers, efficient processing of materials and maintaining cleanliness of facility.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations at assigned Bottle Drop Redemption Center
  • Supervise team members to complete daily work assignments, maintain company standards, and follow company policies and procedures
  • Lead team members in providing a positive and safe environment for all associates
  • Adhere to OSHA Safety Standards and OBRC policies including but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment and Lock Out Tag Out
  • Responsible for opening and/or closing the Bottle Drop Redemption Center
  • Assist with the hiring process by facilitating Bottle Drop tours, interviews, employee onboarding and training
  • Write and distribute team schedule
  • Educate and introduce customers to Oregon's Bottle Bill and the Bottle Drop system
  • Troubleshoot and maintain equipment, including pre-sorts, reverse vending machines (RVMs), floor scrubber, pay station, kiosks and printers
  • Ensure accuracy of cash handling and reconciliation
  • Approve timecards within electronic timekeeping system
  • Escalate repair issues when necessary
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing material and trailers
  • Maintain supply inventory and submit monthly supply orders
  • Communicate with other departments within OBRC as needed
  • Perform the functions of team members
  • Other job duties as assigned

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent education is required
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory/management experience required, preferably in a retail or production environment
  • Bottle Drop Experience preferred but not required

Requirements – Skills, Job Knowledge & Abilities

  • Cash handling experience required
  • Excellent customer service skills with ability to effectively diffuse and resolve customer complaints
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate professionally at all levels with internal and external business partners
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects, adhere to deadlines, handle frequent changes effectively and professionally, follow through on issues in a timely manner, and give excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Work indoors and outdoors as needed in various temperatures/conditions.
  • Exposure to industrial equipment with moving mechanical parts, vibration, sharp objects and cleaning products.
  • Occasional exposure to odors of empty beverage containers.
  • Noise levels in designated areas require the use of approved hearing protection.
  • Must be able to frequently lift/carry up to 30lbs.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Push/pull 50+ lbs. frequently (wheeled bag racks).
  • Talking and hearing is frequently required.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to stand and walk.
  • Must be able to bend/stoop/crouch/squat.
  • Must be able to use arms/wrists/hands/grasp.
  • Must be able to occasionally climb and balance.
