The Lincoln County Assessor's Office is currently looking for a friendly and engaging individual to take on the front-facing, customer service role of
Assessment Specialist
.
We are currently looking to hire an Assessment Specialist 2 or
3 depending on experience.
ASSESSMENT SPECIALIST 2 (AS2) starting at $24.26 per hour*
ASSESSMENT SPECIALIST 3 (AS3) starting at $26.24 per hour*

- Assist the public in person, on the phone, by email, and by letter in a helpful and professional manner.
- Perform complex data entry, proofing, and computer lookup.
- Perform diverse and highly complex computer database query functions for internal use and to fill requests for the public.
- Provide public with forms and procedures needed for manufactured home changes.
- Manage front counter duties.

EDUCATIONHigh School Diploma / GED
EXPERIENCEAS2: Three years of progressively responsible computer, secretarial, and clerical experience.
AS3: Five years of progressively responsible computer, secretarial, and clerical experience.
Desirable
Qualifications:
College coursework in secretarial science, business administration, computer science or related field is highly desirable.
AS3: Three years in an Assessor’s Office preferred.
Knowledge of/Ability to:
- Considerable to extensive knowledge and comprehension of office procedures, property tax laws, mapping system, legal descriptions, assessment procedures and record systems used in an Assessor’s office.
- General knowledge of appraisals methods, legal instruments and chain of title.
- Advanced skill in operating office equipment, computer equipment and software and making complex mathematical calculations.
- Skill in written and oral communications, making complex mathematical calculations, reading legal instruments and descriptions and numerical as well as alpha filing.
