Job Summary /PurposeProvides treatment based upon established plan of care for patients with wounds, fistulas, percutaneous tubes, ostomies, incontinence, and actual or potential skin breakdown. Serves as a resource and consultant to patients and nursing staff. Performs assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care provided. Collaborates with WOCN to implement changes in the plan of care.
Department DescriptionSamaritan Wound Care treats acute or chronic wounds caused by diabetes, surgery, injury, poor blood flow and/or other problems. The scope of practice is physician driven and centered around wound, ostomy and continence care while maintaining additional adjunctive therapies such as vein medicine and hyperbaric medicine.
Experience/Education/QualificationsCurrent unencumbered Oregon RN licensure required.
Healthcare Provider Level BLS required.
BSN preferred.
Related certification in Wound Care preferred.
Experience in acute care preferred.
Experience in wound ostomy preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesSocial Perceptiveness:
Ability to work with a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics. Basic understanding of age-related differences in caring for and/or communicating with patients and caregivers. Possess personal sensitivity to the needs and experiences of others and a non-judgmental attitude towards persons of differing standards, values, lifestyles, and ages.
Adaptability/Flexibility:
Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to situations that may arise with high risk or diverse patient populations. Ability to adjust actions in relation to others and adapt to offer best possible care to patients.

Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending issues. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in dynamic fast-paced environments and under pressure.
Communication:
Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues.
