Newport Lamp & Shade Company is seeking a Sales & Client Experience Coordinator to join our dynamic team in our Newport showroom. This role blends in-person luxury retail, digital client service, and meticulous order management for a clientele that includes discerning homeowners and top-tier interior design professionals. The primary focus of this role is to support the Sales Director by managing end-to-end order processing and client communication—before, during, and after the sale.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with the Sales Director to manage client orders from quote to delivery, ensuring accurate entry, updates, and follow-through across all channels.
- Serve as the main point of contact for order-related questions, proactively communicating timelines, status updates, and next steps to clients via email, phone, and text.
- Own pre- and post-sale client communication: respond to product inquiries, send estimates, confirm details, and follow up after delivery to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
- Manage status requests, returns, exchanges, and order adjustments with clarity, empathy, and efficiency, coordinating with our custom lampshade and repair studio as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve order or service issues, escalating thoughtfully to the Sales Director when appropriate while maintaining an elevated standard of service.
- Support day-to-day showroom operations, including welcoming clients, conducting consultations, processing transactions, and assisting with visual merchandising and inventory management.
- Guide retail clients and interior designers through lighting, lampshade, and custom-order selections, both in person and digitally (phone, email, video as needed).
- Maintain organized digital records and workflows using tools such as Shopify, Trello, Tettra, and Happy Fox (or similar platforms) to track orders, tasks, and client communications.
- Collaborate closely with the Operations Coordinator on inventory, shipping, receiving, and packaging to ensure accurate and on-time fulfillment.
At Newport Lamp & Shade Company, you’ll be part of a close-knit group of creative professionals who work hard but also keep the atmosphere positive and fun. The team is led by the business owner and Creative Director, whose vision shapes the brand, and the Sales Director, whose leadership guides client relations, sales strategy, and showroom standards. You’ll also work with the Operations Coordinator, who supports the team by tackling inventory projects, coordinating shipping and receiving and organizing the supply room.
WhoYou Are
- A polished communicator with excellent written and verbal skills, confident handling detailed client communication across multiple channels.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, comfortable managing many open orders, follow-ups, and status requests without letting anything fall through the cracks.
- Digitally savvy—comfortable with Shopify, CRM tools, or similar e-commerce and sales platforms, and quick to learn new systems.
- Enthusiastic about design and craftsmanship, and familiar with interior design, art, or luxury home vocabulary (or eager to learn).
- Experienced in sales, customer service, or luxury retail (3+ years preferred), particularly in roles involving order management, client support, or account coordination.
