Duties
* You will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, testing/ construction of prototype and production of unmanned undersea vehicle systems in accordance with the technical rigor and systems engineering processes of Code 45 and the Navy.
* You will serve as the senior member of a technical team that performs research, development, test, and evaluation in support of all unmanned systems efforts within Code 45
* You will be the point of contact with recognized authority for technical and scientific decisions and issues, and will represent assigned project in decisional meetings, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and program reviews.
* You will optimize the development and integration of innovative technologies in undersea sensors, vehicle design, robotics, navigation, and autonomous behavior for UUV systems to bring these capabilities to operational levels.
* You will advise and consult program managers and engineering teams on research and development programs, collaborating closely with industry partners on contract-supported Family of Systems projects.
* You will provide review and signature of project technical documents including test plans, reports, drawings, analyses, etc.
* You will maintain technical cognizance of functional area and relationships with sponsoring activities to ensure alignment of technical expectations
* You will serve as the subject matter expert for Systems Engineering related to unmanned undersea systems and work closely with the project Lead Systems Engineers to ensure requirements are adhered to for customer tasking. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
* This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition
Functional Area
and category assigned to the position is required within established category time frames.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
* This is a bargaining unit position.
* This position requires the incumbent to ride/work on surface vessels and submarines. Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-4 pay band (GS-12 and GS-13 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
